Plan the right solutions from the outset, or improve what already exists
From design and new-build projects to the optimisation and modernisation of existing properties.
The best solutions often emerge when comfort, energy efficiency, safety and design are taken into account early on in the construction process. That is why Optinor is keen to collaborate with architects, engineers and consultants right from the design phase.
However, a building’s needs do not end once it has been handed over. New users, new functions and new requirements for comfort, the working environment and energy mean that buildings must be able to be adapted on an ongoing basis.
Here, many of Optinor’s solutions can be integrated directly into the existing building, often without extensive refurbishment, with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations and, in many cases, at a lower cost than traditional replacement.
Typical challenges
Improve comfort and energy efficiency
Reduce glare and create a better indoor environment
Renew rather than replace
Adapt the building to new requirements
Large glazed areas provide daylight and a sense of openness, but can also lead to overheating and increase the need for cooling. The right solutions can improve comfort and the building’s energy performance without unnecessarily compromising on daylight and views.
We recommend
Disturbing glare and high temperatures affect both comfort and the working environment. Solar shading can be adapted to the room’s function and the users’ needs, so that daylight is retained whilst discomfort is reduced.
We recommend
Worn or outdated surfaces do not always need to be torn out. Existing walls, doors, lifts, panelling and fittings can be given a new look and function with far less disruption.
This can mean less construction work, fewer disruptions and, in many cases, lower costs than traditional replacement.
We recommend
A building changes throughout its entire lifespan. New tenants, ways of working or functions may create a need for greater privacy, better temperature control, enhanced security or a different layout.
Many of these changes can be implemented without major alterations to the existing building.

Who do we help?
Among other things, we work with
We work with both those who plan the building and those responsible for ensuring it functions well for many years after it is put into use.
The earlier we are involved, the better we can work out the solutions together. But even when the building is already in place, we can help with targeted improvements that deliver tangible results whilst minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.
New opportunities with 3M
Renew rather than replace.
Through our partnership with 3M, we can combine function and aesthetics in new ways.
With 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes, existing walls, doors, lifts, panels and fittings can be given a completely new look – with minimal disruption, minimal interference and without necessarily having to replace what is already working.
A wide range of surfaces and finishes offers new opportunities to create spaces that both work better and feel better for the people who use them.
From the first sketch to the existing building
Involve us at an early stage, or use us to improve what already exists.
When we’re involved at an early stage, comfort, solar shading, security and design can be naturally incorporated into the project from the outset.
But buildings and needs change. That is why many of our solutions can also be integrated into existing buildings, often without major refurbishment, with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations and, in many cases, as a more cost-effective alternative to replacement.
