Security glass (Hammerglass): A special polycarbonate-based glass material that is extremely resistant to impact and vandalism. A robust solution when extra security is required.

Isn’t toughened glass safe enough?
When toughened glass shatters, it breaks into thousands of tiny pieces that initially appear harmless. However, in the event of an explosion, these shards are propelled through the air at such high speeds that they effectively become small projectiles capable of causing serious injury. This can be addressed with security window film, which holds the glass together so that it does not scatter and strike people or property. Another option could be shatterproof glass, which can provide extra protection in the event of an explosion.
Can Hammerglass be fitted into existing window frames?
Yes, it’s often possible – a flexible solution compared with replacing the whole window.
What is Hammerglass?
Hammerglass is a hard-coated polycarbonate glazing solution designed to provide significantly higher impact resistance than conventional glass. Different configurations are available depending on the required level of protection.
Is Hammerglass bulletproof?
Depends on thickness/classification – available in variants tested to EN standards for bullet and blast protection.
What is the difference between burglar-proof windows and security window film?
Burglar-proof windows are typically made from thicker, reinforced glass and often feature multiple locking mechanisms. Security window film is a more flexible and cost-effective solution that can be fitted to windows to improve security. Burglar-proof windows may require a complete replacement of existing windows, whilst security window film can be easily installed.
